2026 Tournament Invitation

Welcome to the 2026 SRJC Speech and Debate Festival! 
We are so excited to host you in Santa Rosa, California, USA, Earth, Milky Way!

Below are a few notes for the weekend, including morning warm-up rooms. Opening registration, hospitality, extemp prep, and IPDA Strike will all be in Newman Auditorium. If you have changes or drops, please contact Josh on FT.net, jhamzehee@santarosa.edu, or 626 617-1752 immediately. And please double check your entries tonight to avoid any morning issues.

Here are a few notes before we begin:


A. ***DO NOT GO TO THE PETALUMA CAMPUS... go to the SANTA ROSA CAMPUS!
-Here is the address to our campus: 1501 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401.
-Newman Auditorium/Emeritus 1564 in Emeritus Hall will be the central location, off Elliott Ave.
-We have arranged FREE PARKING in the lot directly north of the Emeritus building.


B. SUNDAY START TIMES AND LUNCH NOTE
-Registration and hospitality opens at 8:00AM. All teams should have checked in by 8:30AM.
-Extemp prep A1 Flight is at 8:40AM in Newman Auditorium. If a student is entered in exemp, GO TO EXTEMP FIRST!
-Round A1 starts at 9:00AM.
-Reminder, our lunch is later than most tournaments. For IE's, it is after preliminary rounds are finished and before finals are posted. For LD, it is after round 2. We will offer snacks and refreshments all day in Newman Auditorium, and after Round 1B of IE's we have a wellness and snack break. For lunch, we have several options (listed in our invitation) within close distance.

E. ROOMS AND AREAS
-Parking is FREE in Emeritus Circle Lot behind Emeritus Hall (Campus Map)
-Registration starts at 8am is in Newman Auditorium/Emeritus 1564. All teams should check in by 8:30am.
-Warm Up Rooms are provided by registration, and will be open by 7:45AM.
-Tab Room is in Emeritus 1599
-Judges Hangout Lounge is in Emeritus 1529

Options with service charges:
Credit Card ForensicsTournament.net. They charge you a 4.5% credit card service fee,
and they charge us on the back-end, as well. In total, it becomes about a
9-10% increase in cost. Check, Venmo, Zelle, or Cash preferred, but this
will work if it works best for you or is the only option.

G. OTHER NOTES TO SHARE

FEE DISCOUNT REMINDERS:
EXPERIMENTAL EVENTS: Are FREE!, and will not count toward the judging requirement. By REGISTRATION, any fees associated with experimental events or judging commitment subtractions will be deducted from your fee sheet.

FOR LIP SYNC INTERPRETATION, OR IF STUDENTS ARE USING SLIDES FOR SPEECHES
Make sure students have an internet accessible link (Youtube, googledrive, other) that they can set up as the round begins. In the classrooms there will be computers with internet access, volume, and a projection screen.

Hello!

The Santa Rosa Junior College Forensics Speech, Debate and Performance Team invites you to the “2026 SRJC Forensics Speech and Debate Festival!” on Saturday, October 17, & Sunday, October 18, 2026, in Santa Rosa, CA, 50 miles north of San Francisco in beautiful Sonoma County wine country. 

• We offer 2 competition days in 11 AFA/Phi Rho Pi individual events. Both days have fun, games, and a Next Step Forensics Booth with transfer and graduate school opportunities.

• Day 1 offers a 4-preliminary round Lincoln-Douglas Debate Tournament, experimental events (Lip Sync Interpretation and Original Performance), an awards showcase (winners of select open individual events can perform 2 minutes), and a theme: SPACE FORENSICS! 

• Day 2 offers a 2-preliminary round IPDA Debate Tournament. 

Details are on ForensicsTournament.net (Day 1 and 2). Submit entries by Tuesday, October 13, at 11:59PM (PST), with adjustments by Thursday, October 15, at 6:00PM. We’re excited to host y’all in October!
