Greetings!

On Saturday, February 9th, 2019 East Los Angeles College will be hosting the 2019 SCJFL 3rd Quarter Debate Only Tournament, and we hope that your school or organization will be joining us.

Events:


Lincoln-Douglas Debate: Resolved: The United States ought not provide military aid to authoritarian regimes.


Policy Debate: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce its restrictions on legal immigration to the United States.


Public Forum Debate: Resolved: The United States should end its arms sales to Saudi Arabia.


Congress - Please submit bills to Robert@CannonballofDeath.com by Jan. 17th, 2019


Big Questions: Resolved: Humans are primarily driven by self-interest.


Judging Requirements: 

Each participating school or organization is being asked to supply 1 judge per 2 entries for debate.  Congress requires a school to provide 1 judge for every 5 entries. Judging names should be submitted at the time of registration. If you need to register judges but don’t know their names yet, please use your school name with a number to indicate the judges you will be providing (i.e. Wilshire judge 1; Wilshire judge 2; etc.).  A charge of  $50 per absent judge will be applied for schools who do not provide enough judges to cover their entries (or fraction thereof). 





Fees: 

$10 per student

Please make checks payable to "East Los Angeles College". 

Changes or drops after Wednesday Feb 6th, 2019 at 6pm will be charged a $10 nuisance fee per change.

9:00-11:00 a.m. Debate Round I 

11:00-1:00 p.m. Debate Round II 

1:00-2:00 p.m. Lunch 

2:00-4:00 p.m. Debate Round III 

4:30 pm Awards - Cafeteria.
