Dutton-Brady Schools

The Northern B/C Divisionals Tournament on January 21, 2023 will be held at Dutton/Brady  School in Dutton, MT. It is a very small town, so it is not hard to find the school. From the I-15 Dutton exit, take a quick jaunt down Main Street, turn right onto 2nd, and you will see the school straight ahead. If you are coming from the West via 379, turn left at the sign directing you toward I-15, cross the train tracks, head down main street, and take a left on 2nd. The School is straight ahead from there, you can't miss it!

We will have parking for buses around the right side of the school toward the football field. Cars and vans will be able to park in front of the right side of the school, but let us all leave the left side of the parking zone open for buses to  pick-up and drop-off student competitors.

Upon entering the school through the front entrance, the OFFICE is just to your left and will serve as check-in for schools/teams. The fee will be $5.00 per competitor and there will be one $5.00 fee per team.

The STUDENT COMMONS will be in the cafeteria, which is straight down the hall to the left when entering through the front door.

There will be a HOSPITALITY ROOM providing breakfast and lunch for all judges, drivers, and coaches.

CONCESSIONS will be in the cafeteria, and both breakfast and lunch will be available:

Breakfast: Fruit Parfait $6.00

Lunch: Spaghetti and salad with a desert $8.00

Since Dutton is a very small town, there are no dining or take-out options. There is a gas station/convenience store which opens at 8am and closes at 2pm on Saturdays.

AWARDS will be in the auditorium.

There will be three preliminary rounds followed by a finals round:

Round 1:  9:00am

Round 2:  10:30am

Round 3:  12:00pm

Finals:       2:00pm

Please arrive early between 7:30am and 8:30 am for check-in and registration; Extemp Draw and Debate will begin at 9am.

LD TOPIC:  Resolved: Justice requires open borders for human migration

TEAM POLICY TOPIC: Resolved: The Unites States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and cybersecurity.

PUBLIC FORUM TOPIC: Resolved: The United States federal government should increase its diplomatic efforts to peacefully resolve internal armed conflicts in West Asia.
