Welcome to the 2022 Coronavirus Qualifier (Online) hosted by University High School!

Thank you for your interest in our first ever hosted tournament. We'd like to let everyone know that this is meant to be a fun tournament, hence the name, "Coronavirus Qualifier." Whether you're brand new to speech and debate, or a pro looking for a tournament to compete in, go ahead and register! Everyone is welcome.

There is a $15 school fee for entering the tournament, and a $5 per individual entry fee. New payments and entries will be accepted until Saturday, March 5th, 2022. For every 5 entries by your school, we ask that you also register one judge. (Does not have to be experienced.)

Impromptu* (7)

Dramatic Interp (10)

Informative (10)

Original Oratory (10)

Declamation (10)

All events also include a 30 second grace period. 

*Spar is 2 mins prep, 2 mins AFF opening, 2 mins NEG opening, 4 mins cross-examination, 2 mins AFF closing, 2 mins NEG closing.

*Impromptu is a total of 7 mins, that can be split into prep-time and speaking-time by choice of the competitor. 

Double Entries are accepted! 

The tournament will start with round one at 9:30am (Pacific Time!) on Saturday, March 12th, 2022. Round two is scheduled to start at 11:00am, followed by round three at 1:00pm. Finals will start at 3:15pm. Awards are scheduled for 5:30pm on YouTube Live.

Video meeting information for a judges training will be sent out at a later date.
