WELCOME TO THE LINCOLN PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE LEAGUE'S
2026 STATE WARM-UP TOURNAMENT!
Friday, February 6 @ College of Lake County (Grayslake, IL)
Tournament Information:
The Lincoln Parliamentary Debate League (LPDL) invites you to attend our winter LPDL Tournament! We will be focusing specifically on Parliamentary Debate at this tournament (no IPDA) as we strive to give Parli debaters the opportunity to warm up before the Parli portion of the IIFA State Tournament. That said, Parli teams from any college (Illinois or not) are more than welcome to attend!
In line with our traditional LPDL schedule, we plan to follow the schedule below:
ROUND 1: 12:00 - 1:15
ROUND 2: 1:20 - 2:35
ROUND 3: 2:40 - 3:55
ROUND 4: 4:00 - 5:15
FINAL ROUND(S): 5:45 - 7:00
Any changes to this schedule will be communicated in advance.
Tournament Location:
In-Person at College of Lake County (Grayslake, IL)
19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake, IL 60030
*All rounds will take place on the second floor of the B-Wing*
Fees:
$15 – Each covered PARLI team (1 judge covers two entries)
$50 - Each uncovered team entered into a tournament (note: a full team fee is charged for Maverick parli teams, which a half-fee is charged for each member of a hybrid parli team)
Financial Hardship Waiver:
Programs facing significant budget restrictions may discuss a financial hardship membership and/or entry fee waiver with a member of the LPDL board.
Dittus-Schroeder Award
Named after two of LPDL's founders, Jim Dittus (Highland/Elgin Community College) and Steve Schroeder (College of DuPage), this annual award recognizes a Parliamentary Debate student who best exemplifies the values of the LPDL. At the conclusion of preliminary rounds, all participating debaters will be asked to vote for a peer (from another team) that best exemplifies the values of LPDL.
LPDL TOURNAMENT REMINDERS:
LPDL does allow internet access during prep time.
LPDL does allow flex time in Parliamentary Debate
LPDL does not allow intrasquad interaction or coaching during prep time.
LPDL encourages highly respectful debate that encourages the education of all competitors.
