The LPDL Board is excited to finish off another season of debate with a Parliamentary Debate tournament hosted in-person on Friday, January 31.

ENTRY FEES
Membership Fees
 – Waived for 2024-2025 (with only two guaranteed LPDL tournaments this season, we do not feel justified in asking for additional fees. Normal entry fees will suffice!)

Tournament Entry Fees:
$5 - Each participant in a workshop/scrimmage
$10 - Each covered IPDA debater (1 judge covers two entries)
$15 – Each covered PARLI team (1 judge covers two entries)
$50 - Each uncovered team entered into a tournament (note: a full team fee is charged for Maverick parli teams, which a half-fee is charged for each member of a hybrid parli team)


Financial Hardship Waiver:
Programs facing significant budget restrictions may discuss a financial hardship membership and/or entry fee waiver with a member of the LPDL board.


Anticipated Schedule:

11:30  - Registration

12:00  - ROUND ONE

1:20    - ROUND TWO

2:40    - ROUND THREE

4:00    - ROUND FOUR

Tournament Registration for LPDL #1:

Please submit entries using FTN by 5:00pm on Wednesday, January 29.

Adds after Wednesday, January 29 at 5:00pm will be accepted as possible given judge and room availability. 

Drops after Thursday, January 30 at 4:00pm will incur a $25.00 fee per drop. Name substitutions will be accepted with no charge up until Thursday, January 30 at 4:00pm.

         

LPDL TOURNAMENT REMINDERS:

LPDL does allow internet access during prep time.

LPDL does allow flex time in Parliamentary Debate

LPDL does not allow intrasquad interaction or coaching during prep time. 

LPDL encourages highly respectful debate that encourages the education of all competitors. 

As per the LPDL Constitution, if the tournament size permits (16 or more teams entered), there will be 6 prelim rounds with no final. Awards are based on preliminary standings only. If the tournament size does not permit (15 or fewer teams), there will be 4 prelim rounds with an appropriate amount of Final Rounds as per Article VII, Section 20 of the LPDL By-Laws. Coaches will be notified on Thursday of the rounds.
