Welcome to the home page for the 2024 Sunset Cliffs Classic tournament hosted by Point Loma Nazarene University on Oct 25-27, 2024 for College students.

Status: Accepting Entries

Welcome Back Friends,

This is an early effort to post the Sunset Cliffs Classic so that you can help make your plans if you are interested in participating this year, which we hope that you will.  A couple of points:

- The Invitation with schedule and events is posted and it should answer most of your questions.

-  The tab for schedule may not take you to the updated schedule yet.  I am relying on the good graces and assitance of our Tab Director to handle that once he comes up for air, but as noted above, the accurate schedule is listed in the invitation.  I will note once the schedule tab is updated.  One test is whether it contains BP data.  Last years schedule does not contain BP but this year's does.  Way too much information. Sorry.

-  We are excited to once again offer BP, TPDA, IPDA, NPDA, NFA LD, and all 11 AFA IEs in multiple divisions where numbers support that over these three days.

-  We are super excited to bring back the PLNU Tournament of Champions for TPDA and welcome friends from far out of our region to this event.  You are invited to visit that FTN Registration page to view that Invitation and submit a bid to me via email for a team and a judge for that limited entry event.  It is our effort to celebrate some of the strongest TPDA debaters and coaches in the country, and also to encourage others to learn from thier expertise since we seldom get a chance to compete with many of these examplary teams.

- As always, we encourage you to submit topic areas for consideration for the various formats of debate, send to me at skiprutledge@pointloma.edu

Please let others know about these PLNU tournaments in your region.  We appreciate you registring early and getting the word out so that we can have a truly competitive field, and early registration helps us plan for food, rooms, trophies and judges.  You can change entries of course as we get closer to the tournament.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns. We will try to find some good weather for you to go with our beautiful seaside campus in America's Finest City.

Sincerely,

Dr. Skip Rutledge
