2020 SCJFL 4th Quarter Debate Tournament

Greetings!
On Saturday, April 11th, 2020 Nova 42 Academy will be hosting the 2020 SCJFL 4th Quarter Debate Only Tournament, and we hope that your school or organization will be joining us online.

We will close entries on Tuesday April 7th, 2020 at 5pm, PST.

Events:
Lincoln-Douglas Debate: (April topic) Resolved: Predictive policing is unjust.

Policy Debate: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce Direct Commercial Sales and/or Foreign Military Sales of arms from the United States.

Public Forum Debate: (April topic) Resolved: The United States should remove nearly all of its military presence in the Arab States of the Persian Gulf.

Congress - Please check back for bills posted on this site.  Legislation should be available on or after April 3rd, 2020.

Big Questions: Resolved: Objective morality exists.

Fees:
$10 per student entry (Public Forum & Policy are $20)
Please make checks payable to "Nova 42".  Fees can be sent directly to Nova 42 Academy,  255 N. San Gabriel Blvd  Pasadena, CA 91107
Changes or drops after Tues. April 7th, 2020 at noon, PST will be charged a $10 nuisance fee.
$20/$75 uncovered judge fee (see below).

Judging Requirements:
Each participating school or organization is being asked to supply 1 judge per 2 entries. Judging names and cell phone numbers should be submitted at the time of registration. If you need to register judges but don’t know their names yet, please use your school name with a number to indicate the judges you will be providing (i.e. Wilshire judge 1; Wilshire judge 2; etc.). $20 uncovered judge fee for Congress.  $75 uncovered judge fee for Debate. 
Hired that do not conflict with any team/school should be noted so that they can be used as a clean judge for all competitors.

League Fees:
Teams that have not paid league fees, given proof of insurance, or signed up a tab staff volunteer will not be eligible for this tournament.  Please contact league treasurer Stella Gu to bring your account current: sguus68@gmail.com.
