Greetings!

On Saturday, December 14th, 2019 East Los Angeles College will be hosting the 2019 SCJFL 2nd Quarter Debate Only Tournament, and we hope that your school or organization will be joining us.

We will close entries on Tues. Dec. 10th, 2019 at noon, PST.


Events:


Lincoln-Douglas Debate: Resolved: The United States ought to eliminate subsidies for fossil fuels.


Policy Debate: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce Direct Commercial Sales and/or Foreign Military Sales of arms from the United States.


Public Forum Debate: Resolved: The benefits of the United States federal government’s use of offensive cyber operations outweigh the harms.


Congress - Please check the registration site for the docket.


Big Questions: Resolved: Objective morality exists.


Fees: 

$10 per student entry (Public Forum & Policy are $20)

Please make checks payable to "East Los Angeles College Speech Team Club". 

Changes or drops after Tues. Dec. 10th, 2019 at noon, PST will be charged a $10 nuisance fee.

$20/$75 uncovered judge fee (see below).


Judging Requirements: 

Each participating school or organization is being asked to supply 1 judge per 2 entries. Judging names and cell phone numbers should be submitted at the time of registration. If you need to register judges but don’t know their names yet, please use your school name with a number to indicate the judges you will be providing (i.e. Wilshire judge 1; Wilshire judge 2; etc.). $20 uncovered judge fee for Congress.  $75 uncovered judge fee for Debate.

Hired that do not conflict with any team/school should be noted so that they can be used as a clean judge for all competitors.
