The 2020 SCJFL 3rd Quarter Debate Tournament

Greetings!
On Saturday, February 1st, 2020 East Los Angeles College will be hosting the 2020 SCJFL 3rd Quarter Debate Only Tournament, and we hope that your school or organization will be joining us.

Entries:

Register competitors at: https://forensicstournament.net/SCJFL-D-T3/20 We will close entries on Tues. Jan. 28th, 2020 at noon, PST.

Events:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate: Resolved: States ought to eliminate their nuclear arsenals.

Policy Debate: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce Direct Commercial Sales and/or Foreign Military Sales of arms from the United States.

Public Forum Debate: Resolved: The United States should replace means-tested welfare programs with a universal basic income.

Congress - Please check the registration site for the docket. Legislation should be submitted no later than Jan. 10th, 2020.

Big Questions: Resolved: Objective morality exists.

Fees:

$10 per student entry (Public Forum & Policy are $20)
Please make checks payable to "East Los Angeles College Speech Team Club".
Changes or drops after Tues. Jan 28th, 2019 at noon, PST will be charged a $10 nuisance fee. $20/$75 uncovered judge fee (see below).

Judging Requirements:

Each participating school or organization is being asked to supply 1 judge per 2 entries. Judging names and cell phone numbers should be submitted at the time of registration. If you need to register judges but don’t know their names yet, please use your school name with a number to indicate the judges you will be providing (i.e. Wilshire judge 1; Wilshire judge 2; etc.). $20 uncovered judge fee for Congress. $75 uncovered judge fee for Debate.

Hired that do not conflict with any team/school should be noted so that they can be used as a clean judge for all competitors.
