<p>Dear&nbsp;AA Coach:</p> <p>You are cordially invited to the Butte High School &quot;The Richest Hill on Earth&quot; Speech and Debate invitational tournament on January 13-14, 2017.&nbsp; Preliminary registrations are due to forensicstournament.net by Friday, December&nbsp;23 at 5PM so we can get planning the tournament.&nbsp; Changes to your roster are accepted until 12PM on Wednesday, January 11. Please email me any drops after that time. Adds might be allowed but not if it adds a section.&nbsp; A registration fee of $5.00 for each student and event will be charged.&nbsp; Team events are $10.00. Drops/adds the day of the tournament will result in a $20.00 surcharge. Registration packets will be sent electronically&nbsp;during the evening of January 12. Please check my work and notify me of changes.&nbsp; We will bill your school for the registration fees. We ask that schools please include email so we can notify you of registration status immediately.</p> <p>Entries will be limited to 42 varsity slots&nbsp;with no more than 4 per state event (team events count as two entries). You may also bring&nbsp;up to 4 JV slots which you could use for POI or the state SPEECH&nbsp;events but they won&#39;t count for&nbsp;sweepstakes points. Please enter your POI and JV speech entries on&nbsp;your JV roster. JV debate slots not available.&nbsp;As preparation for state, novice events are not offered.&nbsp;Please notify us of all coaches who will be attending along with their tabbing preferences.&nbsp;&nbsp;Coaches who are not given tab assignments will be placed in the judge pool.</p> <p>MHSA rules will apply.&nbsp; All events will be computer tabbed.&nbsp; Events will be self-timed.&nbsp; Please make sure all your students have their own timers.&nbsp; Please instruct your PFD teams to fill in the judges&#39; ballots to avoid confusion of sides and teams.</p> <p>Limited concessions will be offered.&nbsp; Noodles and Wraps, Pork Chop Johns, and Staggering Ox are within walking distance&nbsp;of the high school. Speech/ Interp rounds are Friday at 4, 6, and 8.&nbsp; Saturday rounds are 8:30, 10:30, 1 , and 3.&nbsp; Debate rounds are Friday at 4, 6, and 8.
