Welcome to the PSDA Online Summer Classic!

Join us August 1–2, 2026, for two exciting days of competition in the PSDA Online Summer Classic, hosted through ForensicsTournament.net. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or brand new to speech and debate, this tournament is open to all adults 18 and older — no experience required!

About the Tournament

The Summer Classic is a returning fan favorite, back by popular demand. Compete fully online from anywhere in the world using FTN Video — no travel, no hassle, just great competition. Choose from five dynamic events across two competition days, and go up against fellow adult competitors in a professionally judged, well-organized tournament environment.

Events Offered

Saturday, August 1 — Pattern A (choose up to 2 events):

• Prepared Speech — Similar to oratory, persuasive, or informative speeches
• Prepared Acting — Akin to dramatic interpretation or prose/poetry performance
• Spontaneous Speech — Impromptu speaking with minimal prep time
• Spontaneous Debate — Similar to SPAR or spontaneous argumentation

Sunday, August 2 — Pattern B (choose 1 event):

• IPDA Debate — International Public Debate Association format. Double elimination — you're guaranteed at least two rounds, and you remain in the tournament until your second loss.

Divisions

We offer two divisions so you can compete at the right level:

• Developmental Division — Equivalent to a novice category. Ideal for newer competitors, those returning after time away, or anyone looking to build experience in a supportive environment.
• Professional Division — Equivalent to an open category. Designed for experienced competitors ready to go all-out, with cash prizes awarded to top finishers.

Saturday, August 1 — Pattern A

• 8:00–8:50 AM — Round 1
• 9:10–10:00 AM — Round 2
• 10:30–11:30 AM — Final Round

Sunday, August 2 — Pattern B (IPDA — double elimination)

• 8:00–9:00 AM — Round 1
• 9:15–10:15 AM — Round 2
• 10:30–11:30 AM — Round 3
• 11:45 AM–12:45 PM — Round 4
• 1:00–2:00 PM — Round 5
• 2:15–3:15 PM — Round 6 (Final)

Entry Fees

• PSDA Club & Team Members — FREE. Your membership covers your entry. Judging is included.
• General Registration — $50 per entry. Open to any adult 18+. Enter up to 2 events on Saturday and 1 IPDA event on Sunday. Judging is included — no need to provide a judge.
