<p>Jan/Feb LD and PF Topics used</p> <p>Spring legislation used for Congress (full packet)</p> <p>SPAR and&nbsp;Parli &nbsp;in Debate pattern,&nbsp;Dual Impromptu in Pattern B, and&nbsp;Impromptu Storytelling in Pasttern A have been added; Tall Tales and Ed Comm have been dropped.</p> <p>At Othello&#39;s tournament we will be offering</p> <p><strong>Dual Improvisation</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;- instead of Edcom &nbsp;it will be in pattern B.&nbsp; This is dual impromptu where they can move, look at each other, and interact.&nbsp; Topics are usually funny and light-hearted.</p> <p><strong>Impromptu Storytelling</strong>&nbsp;- instead of Tall Tales it will be in pattern A. Competitors are given several fairy tales/legends/tall tales.&nbsp; They choose one and re-tell the story.&nbsp; The re-telling should be close to the original.</p> <p><strong>Parli</strong>&nbsp;- in the Debate rounds &nbsp;Parli is like Public Forum and Impromptu combined.&nbsp; Anyone can judge Parli.&nbsp; The teams go into the room with nothing but a dictionary.&nbsp; They get the topic there, they get some down time to strategize and set their cases then they debate.&nbsp; This is great for those kids who haven&#39;t debated but want to get their feet wet.&nbsp; There is no prep work, though knowing about the world, being able to think outside the box, and articulate arguments are a plus.&nbsp; The topics are not frivolous but serious.</p> <p><strong>Spar</strong>&nbsp;3 per school held during 1/2 debate rounds.&nbsp; Those who debate are not to be in Spar (sorry) &nbsp;This is for those who really don&#39;t debate but would like to try out.&nbsp; The topics are silly and Frivoulous.&nbsp; This is not for any trophy or team points.</p>
