 Invites you to the Northern B/C Divisional Tournament for 2020!


Registration

Register at SHS office between 7:15-8:00.

Each school may have a maximum of three entries in each event.

All events will follow the MHSA Handbook.


LD Debate Topic will be the January/February topic:

Resolved: States ought to eliminate their nuclear arsenals.


Policy Debate:

Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce Direct Commercial Sales and/or Foreign Military Sales of arms from the United States.


Public Forum:

Resolved: The United States should end its economic sanctions against Venezuela.


Extemp Topics:

Meals

Breakfast & Lunch will be provided for all judges, coaches, & bus drivers in the HS hospitality room. Concessions will be available from 8-4, as well as a pre-order lasagna lunch that will include bread, salad, and dessert for $7.


Speech events will be held at the Elementary School (right next to the HS)


Drama & Debate will be held at the HS.


All finals will be at the HS.


Competition:

There will be four preliminary rounds and finals. All competitors will be allowed one drop round.


Round 1 8:30

Round 2 10:00

Round 3 12:00

Round 4  1:30

Finals 3:30


Awards will be in the auditorium as soon as possible after finals

Extemp draw will be 30 min. prior to each round

Debate will start at the scheduled time (not 30 min. prior)

Conduct:

All students are to maintain a standard of conduct that reflects positively on their home school and community, as well as the host school and community.


All competitors will gather in the High School multipurpose room.


All students are to remain in the multi-purpose room in the High School when not competing.
