Welcome to the home page for the 2025 NCFA Spring Champs tournament hosted by Diablo Valley College on Feb 21-23, 2025 for College students.
Status: Accepting Entries
Greetings!
On behalf of the Northern California Forensics Association (NCFA), we are pleased to invite you to the 2025 NCFA Spring Championship Tournament hosted by Diablo Valley College (DVC). This event will take place from February 21–23, 2025, and will feature a full range of competitive opportunities, including 11 Individual Events, NFA Lincoln-Douglas Debate (NFA-LD), Parliamentary Debate (NPDA), and International Public Debate (IPDA). Individual events will have Novice and Open divisions, while all debate formats will offer Novice, Junior, and Open divisions.
Tournament registration will be conducted here through Forensicstournament.net, where all coaches, competitors, and judges must create a profile prior to the event. Entries are due by 11:59 PM on February 19, 2025, with drops and changes permitted until 10:00 PM on February 20, 2025. All judges for NFA-LD, NPDA, and IPDA must submit a judging paradigm through the system.
Schools must provide qualified judges to cover their entries. A school entry is considered uncovered if their judges are insufficient in number, unavailable due to absence, excessive conflicts, or failure to follow the tournament schedule/guidelines.
Each school is allowed zero uncovered entries for IPDA and NFA-LD. If securing judges is a challenge, programs should notify the Tournament Director and NCFA Executive Committee by February 10, 2025. Assistance in locating judges may be provided, and judge-related fees may be reduced on a case-by-case basis.
For more details, refer to the Covered/Uncovered section on pages 11 and 12 in the invite.
Entry Limit
Students may compete in up to three events per day, including any combination of:
- Three Individual Events (I.E.), or
- One debate event plus two I.E. events.
While Forensicstournament.org may allow additional entries, the tournament enforces a strict three-event maximum per student and will require schools to make necessary adjustments.
Additional details on lodging, parking, and tournament logistics will be posted here. We look forward to welcoming you to a competitive and rewarding tournament experience. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
