2024 Great Salt Lake Invitational & UTEP Individual Events Classic

Welcome to the University of Utah!

We have worked hard to compress all rounds into one building, which is Gardner Commons  (https://map.utah.edu). This makes rounds move faster, keeps us out of the cold, and means less chance of slipping on snow/ice or getting lost. It means we also compress several things into one room (GC 1900). This is a very big room, so it should accommodate everything we have placed in the room.

GC 1900 will be used for:

·       Registration/check-in

·       Extemp Draw

·       IPDA Draw

·       Hospitality

Fees:

Some people paid fees before food costs were assessed. Some people have dropped entries after the food was ordered. Both of these things may contribute to your fees being a bit different than what you saw before. Please check your fees to ensure you have paid them. If you have questions, please reach out. Additionally, if you have people attending who are not listed as judges or competitors, please pay for their per-person food costs if they plan to eat the meals or snacks.

Weather:

While there is a winter storm warning, the snow has stopped in most areas. If you are coming from the east, the canyon between Park City and Salt Lake may be a bit slick, but they are doing a great job plowing everywhere else. It will still be cold and it is expected to snow more on Sunday, albeit less than yesterday and today. Please plan accordingly.

Parking:

Please plan to park in the pay lot on Central Campus Drive. This is the closest lot, and you are not required to pay on the weekend for this lot (all A and U lots). Please park on the south end of the lot where the signs are marked “U after 3 pm” to avoid any confusion. This is also the closest part of the lot to Gardner Commons. 

 Collapsed Events:

Junior and open NPDA will collapse into one event. We will have a junior break out and break to appropriate rounds based on entry numbers, hoping to get everyone out by Sunday night (as per the feedback I received from the email on Tuesday).
