Dear Forensics Friends, 

MCC is pleased to invite you to the Gabel GabFest (formerly the Crystal Clear Forensics Reception) on Saturday October 10, 2026, renamed in honor of Bonnie Gabel, founder of our Speech and Debate program. It is the second half of a swing with NIU, who is hosting the parliamentary debate portion, the M. Jack Parker/LPDL #1, on Friday October 9, 2026. 

In the interest of expanding access to ballots, we plan to offer 3 rounds of competition and announce awards based on lowest cumulative scores.* 

There are several updates to the tournament including allowing all levels of competitors, the return of an experimental event (NOT interviewing), and return of pizza lunch. PLEASE READ THE INVITE!

We will be using electronic ballots and judges are responsible for bringing a laptop/tablet device to complete ballots.  

We will be accepting cash and checks to pay for tournament entries. Checks can be made out to "McHenry County College Speech and Debate".
