Status: Tournament Completed

Electric City Uptown Optimists Invitational

Hosted at Great Falls, MT

January 11th and 12th

You are invited to attend the Electric City Uptown Optimists Invitational to be held on the 11th and 12th of January. We will be utilizing Forensics Tournament.net for registration at http://www.forensicstournament.net/.  Because of construction in the school district as well as competing area tournaments, space and judging are limited.  For this tournament, there will be a limit of 42 entries per varsity team and all events held at CM Russell High School.  Depending on the initial number of entries and the ability to obtain a second location, we might allow one JV team per school with up to 21 entries.  I will keep you posted.

Registration Information:

Initial registration due by Friday, Dec. 21st at 4:00PM

Final registration due by Wednesday, Jan. 9th at 6PM.

Because of space available, please try and make the entries for initial registration as close to accurate as

possible so we can plan on building needs.

Because this is the last regular season tournament of the year, we will not offer novice divisions of policy

and Lincoln-Douglas debate.

At this point, we are planning on breaking to quarter finals in all debate events and semis in all speech. If

the size of sections warrant, we may cut an elimination round.

Fees & Logistics:

There will be no on-site registration. All double-checking and changes will be done by coaches via

Forensics Tournament and, after 6 PM on Jan. 9th, via email. Please expect an e-mail on the night of Thursday, Jan. 10th with final codes and registration.

There will be a $5.00 fee assessed per entry. Partner events count as two entries.

There will be no fees for drops, adds, or changes up to Wednesday, Jan. 9th.  Only drops or changes

(not additions) of events for existing competitors are allowed after Wednesday at 6 PM. Drops will be assessed a $5.00 penalty.  Submit late changes via email.
