You can also follow the honor society on Instagram for more info and announcements https://www.instagram.com/lambda_phi_alpha/ Important rule reminders: CCCFA has strict rules against Impromptu example reuse. Per the bylaws,"CCCFA expects the prompt to be the inspiration of a speech, not for pre-planned support to be manipulated to fit the prompt. Previously used portions of speeches may not be used in subsequent speeches (within the State tournament). This includes, but is not limited to, explanation and application of examples." Debate prep: Team prep is NOT allowed. NPDA partners may only consult each other. IPDA debaters may not consult anyone but may consult the internet during prep time. Electronic flowing: Students using digital flowing or prep notes in IPDA and NPDA may only use Google Docs or Google Sheets. If a protest is filed, students must provide full Editor access to all documents or spreadsheets used to the Tab Room, Ombuds, or Protest Committee. NPDA reminder: No published information consulted before the debate may be brought into the chamber. Students may only bring notes written by the debaters during prep time, handwritten or typed, plus a copy of the NPDA Rules of Debating and Judging. Electronic flowing is allowed, but no cutting and pasting previously prepared material and no flowing by anyone outside the round on a shared document. Tournament expectations: Smoking, vaping, and alcohol are prohibited in all rounds. Judges should not make comments about clothes, hair, makeup, or physical appearance. Feedback should stay focused on content and nonverbal communication. CCCFA does not tolerate harassment. Slurs, jokes, and other verbal or physical conduct related to protected characteristics are not acceptable. Judges are expected to respect students’ identities, including pronouns, and require others in the round to do the same. Our main goal is for everyone to have a good time and enjoy States. Let’s make it a great tournament. Ryan Guy Tournament Director, CCCFA State Championship
