Congress update:

Due to an error and the circulation of multiple topics, the middle school and elementary school topics have been changed.

Round 1: The USFG Should create a space force
Round 2: The USFG shall hereby establish a national single payer healthcare system

Round 3: Resolved - The USFG should invest more money in renewable energy storage development

Round 4: Resolved – The Davis-Bacon Act should be repealed


The High School topics have not changed. 

The Communication Arts League is back for our second seasons and is proud to present our 1st event of the season.

The theme of this tournament is “Empathy”. Students will explore how empathy is important and has been used to create positive change through multiple speech and debate events.

This tournament will have events for 3 age groups:

3rd – 5th Grades: Elementary

6th – 8th Grades: Middle School

9th -12th Grades: High School

Payment

Team Fee: $50

All patterns are $15 per event.

Tournament will be held at Orange Coast College.  2701 Fairview Rd, Costa Mesa, CA 92626

Registration will open September 9 and close September 25 at 5 PM. Fees will be frozen on September 25. All changes required after September will need to be emailed directly to the tournament director (wwashington@aclacademy.org).

Policy Debate

We will also offer five rounds of Policy debate in for two age groups Middle School and High School.  Schedule and times will be posting on Forensicstournament.net

 

Photo release: Please let all parents know that we will be taking photos at this tournament to help promote future tournaments and activities. By signing up for this tournament, participants have agreed to allow images to be used to promote Speech and Debate and future ACLA tournaments. Parents are not allowed to film or take photos of any students (even their own child) during competition rounds.
