<p class=\"p1\"> &nbsp;</p> <p class=\"p1\"> <span style=\"background-color:#ffff00;\"><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><b>Students entered in NFA-LD may not enter any other IEs</b></span></span></p> <p class=\"p1\"> &nbsp;</p> <p class=\"p1\"> Dear Colleague:</p> <p class=\"p2\"> The San Diego State University forensics team is pleased to invite you and your squad to the <b><i>Aztec Invitational</i></b> to be held on <b>October 12th and 13th, 2013</b>. After a hiatus of more than a decade, the SDSU Aztecs are proud to reintroduce the tournament that, in years past, was considered one of the most competitive weekends in the fall semester. Many Southern California programs have committed to sending their squads to our event. We hope your team will join us.</p> <p class=\"p2\"> The tournament will offer four preliminary rounds of NPDA debate on Saturday (October 12th), three preliminary rounds of individual events on Sunday (October 13th), and four rounds of NFA LD debate, also on Sunday. Students may not enter both LD and IEs for schedule reasons.</p> <p class=\"p2\"> Several features merit your consideration of this event.</p> <ul class=\"ul1\"> <li class=\"li3\"> <b>User-Friendly Scheduling</b> &ndash; As costs for travel continue to rise and as students become increasingly committed to jobs and other campus activities, three-day long tournaments are becoming increasingly difficult. Consequently, except for Senior NPDA debate, all events are completed in a single calendar day. We hope you will find this schedule to be both budget and student friendly.</li> <li class=\"li3\"> <b>Fantastic Tabroom Staff</b> &ndash; We are pleased that Dr. Skip Rutledge of Point Loma Nazarene University has consented to serve as this year&rsquo;s Tournament Director. He has recruited an outstanding group of individuals to ensure that the tabulation of events is both accurate and efficient.&nbsp;</li> <li class=\"li3\"> <b>Narrowed Novice NFA-LD Resolution.</b>&nbsp; To help encourage beginning Lincoln Douglas debaters to be able to intelligently address items likely to be debated in the Novice Division, this tournament will limit the NFA LD topic to the PSCFA recommended narrower resolution as follows: <span class=\"s1\"><b>The USFG should substantially reform elementary and/or secondary education in the US in one or more of the following areas: student evaluation, teacher evaluation, and core curriculum.</b></span></li> </ul> <p class=\"p4\"> The Aztecs hope to see you and your squad in San Diego on October 12th and 13th. If there is anything we can do, please do not hesitate to contact us.&nbsp;</p>
